About Routing
Computer networks have become increasingly
important for businesses to enable the
communication and sharing of resources and
information. Networks support the transfer of
data, voice and video from one source to
another.
Routing refers to the path along a computer
network onto which enables the transmission of
data, voice or video from one source to various
network destinations. Hardware devices called
routers enable this direct transfer of
information by the shortest and most efficient
path. By configuring router tables and
protocols, routers can forward large amounts of
information without compromising security and
while avoiding network outages or failures.
